Ouch!

Addie came down for breakfast one morning and like a dumb mom I couldn't stop staring at her new ouch on the top of her lip. Her eyes welled up with tears and she said she feels so ugly now. I guess she fell down while ridding her scooter but I still can't picture how you would land to hit that part of your face without your nose getting skinned as well. Either way she hates the way she looks and we are avoiding mirrors at all costs to keep her from crying. Andrew HATES that she cares so much about her looks. He is anti Vanity. He claims looks fade as time passes and we need to develop our minds ect.. But I think thats something all ugly people say! (kidding)

$$$$$ Shoes $$$

The last time Annette visited she was "vocal" about how rag-a-muffin my kids looked in their worn out shoes. I assured her they were fairly new the kids just had worn them out quickly. She just kept this foul look on her face as she insisted we go buy new ones. Well she has been gone a little over a week and I have proof that the new shoes she got them are already ruined. I swear kids are a never ending vacuum of money. My kids love to go through socks and shoes like they grow on trees and oddly enough the way their Aunt cow tails to their needs you would think her money grows on trees. (Ha I am getting REALLY cute with this post aren't I?) Any way. This picture is for documentation purposes only. I am keeping a running tab of expenses so I can show my kids how much they cost me when I am old and need my diaper changed.
What do you think Aunt Net do you believe me now?

Here is a picture of the guilty party trying to look cute. Aunt Net sees smiles and bright futures I just see dollars being flushed down the toilet!! How can you not see that? Its like those 3d pictures where you have to squint and kind of go cross eyed but its there!

In other news this week Olivia has started to dress herself

I just want to say Thank You lord for every humbling experience that comes my way through my children.

Blankets and the insanity associated with them

Both my girls have a blanky and then one one day Aunt Net comes to visit with this blanket that she bought on the plane trip over and Derek loved it. He was not a binkie baby or a thumb sucker so I guess he needed something. But it cracks me up how much it means to him. Occasionally we have to wash it. I mean a two year old boy dragging this thing through the jungle and back yeah we wash it! But home boy does not handle the process well. I try to distract him with candy, books, a movie, cars ect.. But he can't leave the laundry room till its all clean and back in his arm. In the interest of time I choose to only show you the drying process but trust me he stays and cries through the whole process. I don't stay with him and console him. I usually read US Weekly and have a bowl of Lucky Charms or pluck my eye brows. I can honestly say I have been through bigger hardships than having my blanket washed so I find it a little immature :P

Waiting for it to dry

Derek does this thing where he will bang his head against a wall or the floor to demonstrate his anger. And men claim women are the dumber creatures. Really??

15 minutes into the drying process

30 min into the drying process

almost done drying the blanket

Words can not express

If I tried to put into words how much it meant to me to go to chuck e cheese for my birthday... well it would be inadequate at best. So I choose to share this picture that captures how I REALLY felt. Happy Birthday to me! I love getting closer to thirty. Bring it on!

Celebration day

Annette came to town and pulled out the red carpet for my birthday. Thanks Annette! After hanging out with my whole family and my best friend John on Sunday we went out to lunch the next day at the Olive Garden. It was so yummy. I seriously love their food. Then when the kids got home from school we did Chuck E Cheese and Baskin Robbins.
This is a picture of me singing the National Anthem out loud and Annette's reaction. (I am kidding but the way she looks at me when I talk... you would think I am a crazy lady)

Now Don't waste your tokens

We always try to get the most bang for our buck at chuck e cheese by focusing on the games that generate the most tickets thus allowing us to get better prizes. As you can see Olivia found the photo booth and didn't pull her weight at bringing in tickets.

With this economy I can't afford movie Nights.

Occasionally Andrew and I will brave a family movie night with the kids but it has been a while. Also I have recently banned the purchase of new movies in our house. My kids love to man handle dvds ruining them permanently with scratches and all kind of slime on the back. I can't tell you how many times I have seen a movie blur up and skip scenes only to pull it out of the machine and find a full peanut butter and jelly sandwich stuck to the back of the dvd. Since Disney only opens the vault every so many years we have not been able to watch expensive cute movies like Peter Pan, Lion king, 101 Dalmations, and other really good ones. I just can't get the youngest to understand how to "not touch the shinny part". So I figure rather than become abusive we will red box and return the ruined dvds to the idiots that own red box. The ironic part is I get so bent when I rent a movie from there and its all scratched knowing I return them in worse condition than is ethical. I guess in my mind I truly believe no one has it as bad as I do and if they did they would understand any way so these "other" people who are rude enough to return a movie scratched are selfish menaces to society and deserve the wrath of my raunchy feelings being spewed out into the universe for them to catch on a windy day. Blah......
Well Aunt Net rolled into town and bought them a movie they have always wanted. Alvin and the Chipmunks. They laugh so hard at that movie and she hooked them up with more candy than is offered at the real movie theater. Lucky ducks I tell ya. And yes this new movie is already missing its case and sticky on the shiny part. But at least I didn't pay for it.

Half Marathon

I don't really like this pic (I was being crazy) but I didn't want to carry my camera around so its the only one I have.

This past weekend I ran my first Half Marathon since Derek was born. I needed to just run one and get it over with the get a starting point to work off of. It feels like after each baby I had to start over completely. And after baby number one it got harder and harder with each additional baby. I often hear a mom of two or three say there is no difference but wouldn't you say if you have two kids there is a difference between you and some one who has had none?? So Derek being number five I felt like I would probably never run again. I wanted to aim for a certain time but a couple days before the race I thought I should mainly focus on trying to finish. I wish I hadn't have done that now. Cause after mile 10 I kind of went on cruise control and slowed down. I know I could have gotten a better time but I got real crabby. It felt like the miles were more like two miles. And I felt like it was a giant conspiracy to get me to quit. Even my friends that were cheering for me said I was kind of grumpy. Lol. I had a Bipolar moment for sure. But considering weight gain, 5 babies, a thyroid problem, postpartum depression, asthma, car accident, meniscus of the knees, ect... I truly believe that you can't make excuses and you just have to get out there and run. And I do think every one should do it once in their life time. Otherwise your all talk and thats soooo annoying! My time was roughly 1 hour and 47 min. I stopped at a McDonalds to go the bathroom and jogged the water stations. Next time I will have a water bottle in a pack and not eat a salad the night before (salads always make me have to go to the bathroom the next day). I am not that excited about my time. I was 38th out of all the women (there were over 250 in my race) and I could have been in the top ten if I had just gone a little faster. I was not sore so I know I was not pushing as hard as I could. Again its something to work off of and it can only get better from here.
